These delicious Ham & Cheese Sliders are perfect for gatherings or a tasty snack. Featuring tender ham and melted Swiss cheese nestled inside soft Hawaiian rolls, topped with a flavorful buttery glaze of Dijon mustard, onion, and poppy seeds, then baked to golden perfection.
Total Time:40 minutes
Yield:12 servings
Ingredients
Sliders
12 slider buns (like Hawaiian rolls)
½ lb thinly sliced cooked ham
12 slices Swiss cheese
¼ cup mayonnaise
Glaze
4 tbsp butter, melted
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 tbsp minced onion
1 tbsp poppy seeds
Instructions
Preheat the oven. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the sliders.
Prepare the buns. Cut the slider buns in half horizontally and arrange the bottom halves evenly in a baking dish.
Assemble the sliders. Spread mayonnaise evenly over the bottom halves of the buns. Layer slices of Swiss cheese first, then arrange the thinly sliced cooked ham on top, followed by another layer of Swiss cheese.
Top the sliders. Place the top halves of the buns over the layered ingredients to enclose the sliders.
Make the glaze. In a bowl, whisk together melted butter, Dijon mustard, minced onion, and poppy seeds until well combined.
Apply the glaze. Generously brush the glaze evenly over the tops of the slider buns to enhance flavor and create a golden crust.
Bake covered. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes to heat through and melt the cheese.
Bake uncovered. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the tops are lightly browned and crispy.
Cool and serve. Allow the sliders to cool for a few minutes before serving to let the flavors meld and prevent burning.
Notes
Use Hawaiian rolls or other soft slider buns for the best texture and slight sweetness.
Substitute Swiss cheese with provolone or mozzarella if preferred.
For an extra kick, add a sprinkle of garlic powder or smoked paprika to the glaze.
Make ahead by assembling the sliders and refrigerating them; bake when ready to serve, adding a few extra minutes to baking time if cold from the fridge.
To reheat leftovers, cover with foil and warm in a 300°F oven for 10 minutes to avoid drying out.
