Instructions
Prep Bang Bang Sauce: Add all the bang bang sauce ingredients to a small bowl and whisk well to combine. Adjust the flavor by adding more sriracha for extra spice or more honey or sweet chili sauce to mellow it. Chill until ready to serve.
Cook Ground Turkey: Heat sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. When hot, add the ground turkey and break into smaller pieces. Cook until browned and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
Add Seasonings: Reduce heat to medium-low, then add minced garlic, grated ginger, smoked paprika, onion powder, soy sauce, sriracha, chicken broth, honey, black pepper, and sea salt. Stir well and let simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Thicken Sauce: Sprinkle corn starch over the turkey mixture and stir until fully incorporated and the sauce thickens.
Optional Flavor Boost: Just before serving, stir in about 2 tablespoons of the prepared bang bang sauce into the turkey mixture for extra flavor.
Assemble Bowls: Layer cooked rice and desired veggies in bowls. Spoon the ground turkey mixture on top, drizzle with additional bang bang sauce, and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
Notes
Use low sodium soy sauce to control saltiness in the dish.
Adjust sriracha amounts in both the turkey mixture and bang bang sauce to match your preferred spice level.
Substitute chicken broth with vegetable broth for a lighter option.
For a gluten-free version, ensure soy sauce is gluten-free and verify other ingredients.
Add fresh lime juice to the bang bang sauce for a citrusy twist.
Cook rice ahead or use leftover rice to shorten prep time.
