A delicious and gluten-free take on classic buffalo wings using crispy cauliflower florets coated in spicy buffalo sauce and almond flour, cooked to perfection in the air fryer.
Total Time:35 minutes
Yield:4 servings
Ingredients
Buffalo Cauliflower
1 head cauliflower (about 2 cups)
1/2 cup buffalo sauce
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 cup almond flour
Instructions
Prepare Cauliflower: Chop and wash the head of cauliflower thoroughly to remove any pesticides or bugs, preferably using a fruit scrub. Dry the cauliflower well before proceeding.
Coat with Buffalo Sauce: Place the dried cauliflower pieces in a large mixing bowl and pour the buffalo sauce over them. Toss well until the cauliflower is fully coated and no white spots are visible.
Mix Almond Flour and Spices: In a separate large bowl, combine almond flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly to blend the spices evenly into the flour.
Coat Cauliflower: Add the buffalo-coated cauliflower florets to the almond flour mixture and toss until each piece is fully coated with the spicy flour mixture.
Air Fry: Arrange the coated cauliflower pieces in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding to prevent sogginess. Air fry at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes until crispy.
Serve: Remove the crispy buffalo cauliflower from the air fryer and serve immediately with ranch or blue cheese dipping sauce for best flavor.
Notes
For extra crispiness, you can spray the cauliflower lightly with cooking spray before air frying.
If you do not have an air fryer, bake the cauliflower on a lined baking sheet at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 25-30 minutes, turning halfway through.
Adjust spice level by adding more or less buffalo sauce according to your taste.
This recipe works well as a vegan dish if you use a vegan buffalo sauce and dipping sauce.
Almond flour provides a gluten-free alternative but can be substituted with other gluten-free flours for variation.
