This refreshing Blue Raspberry Lemonade combines fresh lemon juice with a sweet blue raspberry syrup for a vibrant and delicious summer drink. Perfectly sweetened with a simple syrup and optionally tinted with blue food coloring, it’s garnished with fresh raspberries and lemon slices for a beautiful presentation.

  • Total Time: 50 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 6-8 lemons (for fresh lemon juice)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 5 cups water (divided)
  • ½ cup blue raspberry syrup
  • Blue food coloring (optional)
  • Fresh raspberries (for garnish)
  • Lemon slices (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Make the simple syrup: In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves completely. Remove from heat and allow it to cool to room temperature.
  2. Mix the lemonade: In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice from 6-8 lemons, the cooled simple syrup, ½ cup of blue raspberry syrup, and 4 cups of cold water. Stir thoroughly to blend all the flavors.
  3. Adjust the color: Add a few drops of blue food coloring if desired, adjusting by small increments until you achieve your preferred shade of blue.
  4. Taste and adjust: Sample the lemonade and add additional sugar or water as needed to balance sweetness and tanginess to your liking.
  5. Chill: Refrigerate the lemonade for at least 30 minutes to allow it to cool and the flavors to meld.
  6. Serve: Pour the chilled lemonade over ice in glasses, and garnish each with fresh raspberries and lemon slices for an attractive and tasty presentation.

Notes

  • You can substitute blue raspberry syrup with any other berry syrup for a different twist.
  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less sugar depending on your preference or the tartness of your lemons.
  • Use freshly squeezed lemon juice rather than bottled for the best flavor.
  • The blue food coloring is optional and purely for aesthetic purposes.
  • For a fizzy variation, replace some or all of the water with sparkling water just before serving.
