Total Time:40 minutes
Yield:6 servings
Ingredients
Main Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
2 cups beef broth
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Salt to taste
Black pepper to taste
Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Brown the Beef and Vegetables: In a large pot over medium heat, cook the ground beef along with the chopped onion and minced garlic until the beef is browned and the onion is soft. Drain any excess fat.
Add Remaining Ingredients: Stir in the crushed tomatoes, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine all the flavors.
Simmer the Soup: Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Let it simmer uncovered for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, to allow the flavors to meld together.
Serve and Garnish: Ladle the hot soup into bowls and garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired. Serve immediately for a delicious, warming meal.
Notes
Drain excess fat after browning the beef to reduce grease in the soup.
Adjust seasoning to taste, adding more salt or pepper as preferred.
For a thicker soup, simmer longer or add a small amount of tomato paste.
You can substitute ground turkey for beef for a leaner option.
Add diced carrots or celery with the onions for extra vegetable flavor and texture.
