Delight in warm, golden Air Fryer Cinnamon Sugar Twists with a creamy, smooth cream cheese dip that makes a perfect snack or dessert. These twists are easy to prepare using thawed frozen dinner roll dough, air fried to perfection and coated with cinnamon sugar for a sweet treat that's crispy on the outside and soft inside.
Total Time:32 minutes
Yield:12 servings
Ingredients
Dough & Coating
12 thawed frozen dinner roll dough balls
½ cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
2–3 tablespoons canola oil
Cream Cheese Dip
4 ounces cream cheese
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
Prepare the Dough: Cut each thawed dinner roll dough ball into halves, then roll each piece into a 6-inch long "snake" shape. Twist each piece into a spiral shape to create the cinnamon sugar twists.
Coat with Oil and Rest: Brush each twisted dough piece thoroughly with canola oil. Place them on a flat surface and allow them to puff up slightly by resting for about 15 minutes.
Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F to ensure it reaches the optimal temperature before cooking the twists.
Air Fry the Twists: Arrange the twists in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Air fry for 7 minutes, then carefully flip each twist and continue cooking for an additional 5 minutes or until they turn golden brown and crispy.
Make the Cream Cheese Dip: In a bowl, whisk together the cream cheese, vanilla extract, powdered sugar, and milk until the mixture is smooth and creamy, perfect for dipping.
Serve Warm: Serve the cinnamon sugar twists warm with the cream cheese dip on the side for an irresistible snack or dessert experience.
Notes
Ensure the dough is fully thawed before starting to make it easier to work with and to get the best puff.
If you don’t have vanilla extract, you can omit it or substitute with almond extract for a different flavor.
Use room temperature cream cheese to make the dip easier to whisk and smoother in texture.
Adjust the cinnamon and sugar quantity based on your preferred level of sweetness and spice.
Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches if needed to maintain crispiness and even cooking.
For a dairy-free version of the dip, substitute cream cheese and milk with vegan alternatives.
